a border guard officer has been beheaded for drug trafficking, press reports said. Khalaf bin Faheed al-Inizi was found guilty of smuggling a large quantity amphetamines.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
