Somalia on 14 October 2018 executed by firing squad a man linked to one of the country's deadliest ever attacks, one year after the tragedy which left over 500 dead, a court statement and police sources said.
Supreme Court Branch 47 has upheld the death sentence for Urmia prisoner Hedayat Abdollahpour, one of several defendants charged in connection to the Oshnavieh clashes, his lawyer Hossein Ahmadiniaz told HRANA on 10 October 2018. It also upheld the prison sentences of six of Abdollahpour’s co-defendants, who are currently free on bail.
States Council representative Abdelrahman Banat announced on 10 October 2018 that there are seven prisoners of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and 21 prisoners from the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) at El Huda prison in Sudan's second city of Omdurman, who have not yet been released despite the presidential amnesty of March 2017.Read everything
