a court in Tehran sentenced to death Tahmineh Danesh, 35, a Kurdish woman arrested two years ago for murdering a man who was trying to rape her. Danesh was sentenced to capital punishment under ghisas, the law of retribution.
The Taliban publicly flogged 13 people, including a woman, in Kabul over the past two days for adultery and drug-related offenses, the group’s supreme court announced on September 2, 2025.
