KENYA: MAN TO DIE FOR KILLING RELATIVE OVER FEES

in Nairobi, Kenya, Samuel Kamonjo and his son-in-law Benjamin Karanja were sentenced to death by the Court of Appeal for killing their relative John Gitu on February 3, 2005, at Kayole Estate. The murder occurred when Kamonjo was confronted by the family over his failure to pay his children's school fees.
Nine people, most of them family members and who were injured during the incident, testified in the case.
