IRAN: THREE PRISONERS INCLUDING A WOMAN HANGED IN ZAHEDAN, PRISONER’S FOUR FINGERS AMPUTATED IN PUBLIC

Public amputation in Iran

the Iranian regime hanged at least three prisoners including a woman in the main prison of Zahedan, said the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Two men were identified as Ali Reza Shahbakhsh and Noroallah Berahoui. The third prisoner, a woman, was said to be a relative of Shahbakhsh. They were transferred to solitary confinement on 21 August.
On 22 August, an Iranian man’s four fingers were amputated in public in the city of Abarkooh, state-run Tabnak website reported. Colonel Ahmad Gholamzadeh, a commander police in the Province of Yazd, said the amputation of the prisoner’s right hand four fingers was carried out in public outside the city’s detention center using a ‘guillotine’ machine. He added the prisoner, who was identified only as M. N., was amputated at the presence of State Security Forces and judicial authorities in the city “for illegitimately obtaining property.” (Sources: CNRI, 22/08/2014 and 23/08/2014)
