two murder convicts were hanged in Karachi and Bahawalpur. Shahid Mehmood was executed in the Central Jail of Karachi for killing a woman and her daughter during a robbery attempt in 1998. Another death row convict, Tajammul Abbas, was hanged in the New Central Jail of Bahawalpur. He had been convicted of killing a woman after raping her in 2004.
