The People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City sentenced four drug traffickers to death as part of the government's long-running campaign to wipe out the narcotics trade, the Tuoi Tre newspaper said. The four men were found guilty of producing and trafficking a large quantity of heroin from their hometown in the central province of Nghe An to provinces in the south since 1998. The network was broken up in January 2001 after police caught four of its members trafficking more than 1.5 kilograms of heroin.(Sources: Agence France Presse, 18/09/2003)
