an Iranian man convicted of rape was hanged in public in Salmas, northwestern Azarbaijan province, Iran, the Shargh daily reported. The man, identified only as Hajan, from Mafanjooq village, was hanged early morning in one of the town's squares.(Sources: Agence France Presse, 07/07/2005)
