Four businessmen had their death sentences upheld by the Ho Chi Minh City Supreme People's Court. Tang Minh Phung, Lien Khui Thin, Nguyen Tuan Phuc, and Pham Nhat Hong, were found guilty of corruption in the Epco-Minh Phung case, Vietnam's biggest ever case of fraud and appropriation of socialist property worth many thousands of billions of dong.(Sources: Voice of Vietnam monitored by BBC, 14/01/2000)
