Continuation of the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign in its 105th week in 56 different prisons with the joining of Gorgan Prison On the verge of entering the third year of the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign, while extending our sincerest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives on the path to freedom and to the courageous people of Iran, we send thousands of salutations to the martyrs of the Dey 1404 (January 2026) uprising, who shook the foundations of the fascist regime. We also salute the heroic people of Iran who, in this nationwide uprising, wrote another golden chapter in the history of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom, terrifying the government to such an extent that it resorted to a brutal massacre, revealing its fascist nature in the most blatant way to Iran and the world. And now, thanks to that unjustly shed blood, not only the people of Iran but the entire world has been stirred to action, and global revulsion for this regime has reached its peak, to the point that Ms. Mai Sato (the UN Special Rapporteur) has called the massacre carried out by the government a ‘crime against humanity’ and demanded the prosecution of the leaders of the Velayat-e Faqih government. The European Parliament and the UN Human Rights Council have also taken an unprecedented stance against this crime. During this period, the government of repression and execution executed more than 355 people in the Persian month of Dey alone (22 December 2025-20 January 2026). In the early days of Bahman (Persian month following Dey), more than 50 prisoners, including two prisoners of conscience, Amanj Karvanchi and Arsalan Sheikhi, have also been executed. Therefore, not only has it not ceased executions, but it has extended the wave of killing and executions to the streets, hospitals, detention centers, and even people’s homes. Reports from various prisons indicate the transfer of those arrested on the streets, and even the wounded, to different prisons: 1- A newly constructed building and wards in Sheiban Prison of Ahvaz, which were intended to reduce prison overcrowding, have been allocated to quarantine hundreds of new detainees. 2- In Karaj Central Prison, various halls have been evacuated and allocated for new arrestees. 3- In Qezel Hesar Prison, halls have been cleared and new prisoners, along with a number of other prisoners from the Greater Tehran Penitentiary, have been transferred there to make space for new detainees. 4- Detention centers such as Meghdad are filled with arrested youths.
Therefore, we, the members of the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign, warn against any heavy sentences for the recent protest detainees and against their harassment, abuse, and killing.
Warning! Warning! Given the lack of official announcements regarding the names of the killed, arrested, and injured, it is said that the government intends to kill many of the detainees and the wounded, transfer them to morgues like Kahrizak, and list them among those killed on the streets. On this basis, we, the prisoner members of the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign, in our 105th week, will be on strike in the following 56 prisons on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, against death sentences and in solidarity with the uprising of the Iranian people:
