January 24, 2026 - IRAN. Identities of 14 more individuals killed in Gilan and Mazandaran confirmed

The identities of fourteen more people killed during recent anti-government protests in Iran’s northern provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran have been confirmed. The victims — thirteen Gilak and one Mazani, including two women and two minors — were shot dead by government forces using live ammunition and lethal force in the cities of Rasht, Rudbar, Babol, Manjil, Sari, Chalus, and Ramsar.
According to verified reports obtained by Hengaw, the victims’ identities were confirmed following a week-long verification process.

Killings on January 9, 2026
- Fatemeh Poorsadeghi, 32, from Rudbar, was shot and killed during protests in the city.
- Amir Movahed, 25, a hairdresser from Rasht, was fatally shot when a live round struck his abdomen and side during demonstrations.
- Sajad Pourhassani, 41, also from Rasht, was killed after being shot in the thigh on Motahari Street.
- Alireza Ramezani, 30, from Rasht, was shot on Lakani Street, sustaining a gunshot wound to the side that caused severe lung injury. He was transferred to Poursina Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery but died from extensive internal bleeding.

Killings on January 8, 2026
- Erfan Gholipour, from Babol, was killed after being struck in the head during protests. Sources said his family was forced to pay approximately 900 million tomans to retrieve his body.
- Mazyar Samimi, 28, from Shaft and a resident of Rasht, was shot in the forehead while inside a vehicle near Razi Square. He was buried on Sunday in his hometown of Osmavandan.
- Reza Karimi-Far, 56, a retired teacher from Chalus, was shot four times in the chest and killed while attempting to help a young girl who had been wounded in the head.
- Adia Khoshfekr, 27, from Rasht, was killed by direct gunfire during protests, on what sources said was his birthday.
- Mehdi Khakpour, from Rostamabad in Gilan Province, was shot and killed during protests in Manjil by Basij forces.
- Amin Peyro, 40, from Rasht, was shot in the head at close range and killed.
- Abolfazl Azizi, a 17-year-old Mazani boy from Sari, was shot dead during protests. His body was withheld for a week before being returned to his family.
- Alireza Bagheri Manjili, 24, from Manjil, was killed by direct gunfire during protests.
- Samira Khani, a 12-year-old girl from Ramsar, was shot and killed by government forces during protests outside the city’s Criminal Investigation Department building.
