IRAN - 6 killed in Isfahan on January 9

January 9, 2026:

January 15, 2026 - IRAN. 6 killed in Isfahan on January 9

Abolfazl Bakhtiari Douraki, Farzin Rahimi Douraki, Khani Asadi, Shahram Maqsoudi, Mohsen Asadi, Navid Alam-Chehreh

Six individuals, including five Lors, were killed during recent protests in Isfahan after being shot directly by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to information Hengaw received on January 15, Iranian government forces opened fire on protesters during a public demonstration in Isfahan on the evening of January 9, 2026, killing at least five men.

Hengaw has verified the identities of those killed as Abolfazl Bakhtiari Douraki, Farzin Rahimi Douraki, Khani Asadi, Shahram Maqsoudi—a powerlifting athlete from Izeh—and Mohsen Asadi, a 63-year-old retired employee of the Electricity Department from the village of Dourak Shahpouri in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, who was residing in Isfahan.

In addition, Navid Alam-Chehreh, approximately 40 years old and a resident of Isfahan, was also killed during the recent protests in the city after being shot directly by government forces.

An informed source told Hengaw that the authorities demanded 500 million tomans from Navid Alam-Chehreh’s family in exchange for the release of his body.

The source added that due to internet shutdowns and existing restrictions, the exact date and circumstances of his killing have not yet been fully clarified.

According to received reports, recent protests in Isfahan have drawn widespread public participation, while government forces have responded with live ammunition and violent measures to suppress protesters, resulting in the killing and injury of a significant number of people.

With these latest cases, the identities of 11 people killed in Isfahan Province have so far been registered and published by Hengaw.
