IRAN - Mansoureh Heidari and her husband Behrouz Mansouri killed

Mansoureh Heidari and her husband Behrouz Mansouri, a married couple from Bushehr, were killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during public protests in the city. According to information Hengaw received on January 13, Mansoureh Heidari, a nurse at the Social Security Hospital, and her husband were shot dead on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, on Ashouri Street in Bushehr. Informed sources told Hengaw that the couple were targeted with live ammunition while standing in front of the Qoran Mosque on Ashouri Street. They were shot from inside the mosque by government forces stationed there and died at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. Mansoureh Heidari was the mother of two Minors, aged 7 and 10. Public protests on January 8 took place simultaneously in several cities across Iran. In Bushehr, demonstrations began with a large turnout on Sang-e Street. Protesters later crossed the Pourdarvish Bridge and entered Ashouri Street, where the Qoran Mosque is located. According to eyewitnesses, government forces positioned inside the mosque opened direct fire on demonstrators and used tear gas, resulting in the killing of the couple and the injury of many others. Hengaw has also received reports that several other civilians were killed during the same protests in Bushehr. These cases are currently under verification. The Qoran Mosque is widely known as a key base of activity for Jafar Pourkabgani, the current parliamentary representative of Bushehr, according to informed sources.
