VIETNAM. FIVE PEOPLE EXECUTED BY FIRING SQUAD FOR HEROIN DEALING

An execution in Vietnam

22 May 2006 :

five people convicted of heroin dealing were executed in southern Ho Chi Minh City. The five, including two women, were put to death by firing squad before dawn.
They were among 21 people convicted of selling 2.8 kilograms (6 pounds) of heroin to drug users along Vietnam's Saigon River. 
Four defendants involved in the case were sentenced to life imprisonment while 12 others were given jail terms ranging from three years to 20 years.
