Keith Thurmond, 52, white, was executed in Texas. He had been sentenced to death on Nov. 13, 2002 for the Sept. 25, 2001, murders of his estranged wife Sharon Thurmond, 32, and her boyfriend Guy Fernandes, 35.
Thurmond becomes the 3rd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 480th overall since Texas resumed capital punishment on December 7, 1982.
Thurmond becomes the 7th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1284th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
