In Sudan, the government released seven members of the Liberation and Justice Movement who had been sentenced to death.
The prisoners are currently in the Port Sudan prison in the Red Sea State.
The head of police of the Red Sea State, Haider Ahmed Suleiman, told Radio Dabanga the prisoners were released in line with the agreements made in the Doha peace document between the Sudanese government and the movement of Tijane Sese. Three other members of the Liberation and Justice movement remain in jail because the procedures have not been completed.
The released prisoners include: Abdel Salaam Abdel Haii Osman, Ali Ahmed Hamdallah, Mohamed Abdallah Hamid, Hamadi Omar Adam, Abdel Kadir Agub Fadl, Idris Al Bushari Oshar and Mohamed Guma Abrahim.
