A 35-year-old man was sentenced to death by Colombo High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola for hacking to death a youth down Station Road in Ratmalana, News First reported on 28 November 2019.
The murder took place on the 10th of July 2003 and the defendant Devasiri Susantha Priyadarshana was sentenced to death for killing Hevawitharanage Sarath.
Rawalpindi Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Faisal Rasheed on April 30, 2024 delivered the verdict in the murder case involving nine women and young girls from the same family residing in the limits of Chauntra police station.
