On October 8, 5 convicts were executed in one day at Bang Kwang prison. These 5 executions marked the highest number of executions in a single day at the prison. All of the executed men were convicted of first-degree murder and had not sought pardons from King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who can commute sentences.
