On November 4, the High Court sentenced to death Helen Ayoromi, 30, a businesswoman from the Republic of Benin. She was found guilty of trafficking in drugs at the Bukit Kayu Hitam customs and immigration checkpoint near the Malaysia-Thailand border on May 7, 1997.
