Jan Michael Brawner, 34, white, was executed in Mississippi. He was sentenced to death on April 11, 2002 for the April 25, 2001 murder of his ex-wife, Barbara Craft Brawner, 23, his young daughter, 3-year-old Candice Paige Brawner, and his former parents in law: Carl and Jane Craft, both 47.
Brawner becomes the 5th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Mississippi, the 20th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1983, the 21st to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1298th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
