MALAYSIA: NIGERIAN NATIONAL SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

A Nigerian national has been sentenced to death by a Malaysian court for trafficking 1.392 kg of methamphetamine to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The presiding judge maintained that the accused's statement to the police regarding drug possession differed greatly from his testimony in court.
Eze Ifeanyi Boy, 33, a former spare-parts dealer, was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by High Court in the city of Shah Alam, capital of Selangor district, and sentenced to death by hanging.
Mr. Boy committed the offence at the KLIA arrival hall on October 23, 2011.
Mandatory capital punishment upon conviction in Malaysia applies to anyone found guilty of committing murder, drug trafficking, treason, waging war against the King and acts of terrorism.
