EGYPT: SIX STUDENTS SENTENCED TO DEATH

22 June 2017 :

Egypt’s Court of Cassation confirmed the death sentence for six university students.
The names of the six students are Ahmed Walid, Ibrahim el-Azab, Khalid Askar, Mahmud Wahba, Abdurrahman Attaya and Basim Muhsin.
The students were detained in January, 2014. The students, who are being threatened with their families, were put on trial by ordeal.
The university students, whose death sentence was confirmed, may be executed at any moment. Human rights institutions are calling on the Sisi regime in Egypt to annul the death sentence of the students.
Amnesty International previously condemned the death warrants of Egypt.
In the statement made by Amnesty International, it was pointed out that death sentences mean that Egypt is flouting national and international law.
