BIHAR (INDIA): 10 SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR 2009 MASSACRE

In India, a Bihar court sentenced ten persons to death and awarded life term to four for killing 16 farmers over a land dispute at Amausi in Khagaria district in 2009.
Additional Sessions judge C B Dwivedi sentenced the 14 from death penalty to life term and acquitted 14 others for want of sufficient evidence.
According to the prosecution, 16 farmers were shot dead over a land dispute by the convicts at Amausi village under Morekahi police station in the midnight of October 1, 2009.
Among the convicts, Bodhan Sada was a self-styled area commander of the proscribed Communist Party of India-Maoist.
Those convicted are: Bodhan Sada, O P Mahato, Sikander, Sajjan Sada, Tarini, Sushil, Ladoo, Sanatan, Harilal, Ghuran Sada, Dilo Sada, Dilip, Umesh Mahato and Ram Sada.
