AFGHANISTAN: MURDER CRIMINAL IN BAGHLAN PROVINCE SENTENCED TO DEATH

In Afghanistan, the Primary Urban Court of northern Baghlan province sentenced a 27 year old individual for the charges of murdering an Afghan girl.
Samiullah son of Amanullah assassinated an Afghan girl, Ramina on 27 August 2011 by shooting her five times at her house in cooperation with his younger brother.
He later fled to the neighboring Iran and was arrested in cooperation with the Interpol at Esfahan city and was brought back to northern Baghlan province.
The open court session of the two convicts was held under the supervision of Chief Judge Yar Mohammad Ayub.
The court announced its decision based on the eyewitnesses testimonials and appeals from the prosecutors where Samiullah the main convict of the murder case was sentenced to death and his younger brother was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Fida Mohammad father of the victim and prosecutor of the case welcomed the decision by the court but the convicts denied the decision by the court and urged for further appeals.
