a Yemeni judge convicted Abul-Elah Saleh of entering a Shiite mosque and shooting dead seven people praying there and sentenced him to death. Judge Abdel-Bari Abdullah said that the accused killed seven people in the May 30 attack in the town of Kohal in Amran province, a predominantly Shiite area north of the capital San'a. Police had originally reported that Abdullah Zayed al-Kuhali had killed eight people. There was no immediate clarification for the discrepancy between the two figures. Judge Abdul-Bari Uqbah, ordered the convict to pay YR 4 million in compensation to the people injured in the attack.(Sources: PR-Inside.com, 21/06/2008)
