A proposal to televise the execution of convicted drug traffickers may be shelved, the PM's Office minister who floated it said.
Thammarak Issarangkura na Ayuthaya said he would put the idea on hold if the public was opposed to it. He had come up with the idea after being told by a guest at a police gathering that he was not aware drug convicts were executed. The prime minister is said to oppose the idea. General Thammarak said if this was so, he would drop the idea "without any difficulty".
