06 November 2001 :

A first-year student from Kasetsart University, Jitra, was held hostage and killed at knife-point by an amphetamine-driven abductor.
The killing was witnessed at close hand by seemingly helpless police and a crowd of onlookers who became enraged afterwards and beat the hostage-taker, Sombat Khunthienpradit, to death.
A television camera revealed legs in khaki police uniform kicking Sombat as he lay on the ground.
