In 2013 and the first six months of 2014, no executions were reported in 2 Countries – Gambia and Pakistan – that carried out executions in 2012.
On the other hand, 8 Countries resumed executions: Indonesia (5), Kuwait (5), Malaysia (3), Nigeria (4) and Vietnam (at least 8) in 2013; Belarus (2), United Arab Emirates (1) and Egypt (at least 8) in 2014.
It could not be confirmed if judicial executions took place in Syria in 2013 and the first six months of 2014.
