15 January 2010 :

Gerald Bordelon was executed at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. Bordelon, 47, white, a convicted sex offender, was sentenced to death after he confessed to raping and strangling his 12-year-old stepdaughter Courtney LeBlanc, white, whom he kidnapped on Nov. 15, 2002. It was Louisiana's 1st execution since 2002. Bordelon asked to waive his appeal. He said he would "commit the same crime again if ever given the chance". According to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, roughly 12% of defendants waive appellate review. Bordelon becomes the 28th condemned inmate to be put to death in Louisiana since the state resumed capital punishment in 1983, the 3rd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1191st overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.

11 July 2010 :

State District Judge Wilson Fields formally sentenced Dacarius Holliday to die. Holliday was formally sentenced to death today for fatally beating in 2007. An East Baton Rouge Parish jury convicted the 33-year-old Holliday, of 1st-degree murder on March 14. 3 days later, the same jurors recommended that Holliday die by lethal injection for the killing of his girlfriend's 2-year-old son Darian Coon on May 14, 2007.

19 March 2010 :

A East Baton Rouge Parish jury recommended that Dacarius Holliday, 32, black, should be put to death for the May 14, 2007 killing of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, Darian Coon. District Judge Wilson Fields has not set a sentencing date.

15 January 2010 :

District Judge William J. "Dusty" Knight formally sentenced James Claiborne Magee Jr. to death for the April 18, 2007 murders of his wife Adrienne and his son Ashton. Magee, 32, white, was convicted by a jury on October 19 (see) and sentenced to death at that time.
