Rare footage obtained by BBC Korean shows North Korea publicly sentencing two teenage boys to 12 years of hard labour for watching K-dramas.

A Japanese court sentenced a 21-year-old man to death on January 18, 2024 for the 2021 murder of two and arson, in the first case of capital punishment being given to an offender who was a minor at the time of the crime but whose name has been revealed under a 2022 revision of the Juveniles Law.

The Dharwad bench of the High Court in Karnataka state has refused to confirm the death sentence imposed upon three people in a double murder case, observing that the case does not answer the test of ‘rarest of rare case’, TNN reported on January 15, 2024.
