USA - California. A jury sentenced Marco Topete, 39, Hispanic, to death

A Yolo County jury sentenced Marco Topete, 39, Hispanic, to death. Topete was found guilty in October of the murder of Yolo County Sheriff's Deputy Jose "Tony" Diaz on June 15, 2008 after a car chase. Topete will return to court January 12, 2012 at 8:30 am for impact statements and judge sentencing.
