Kurdish activist Sherko Moarafi is in danger of being executed in Iran for “enmity against God” for his alleged membership in a proscribed Kurdish organisation. Moarafi was detained in October 2008, transferred to a solitary confinement in the death row section of Saqez prison waiting for his execution. The Supreme Court upheld the sentence, as did the Appeal Court. The execution is scheduled for May 1st, 2011.(Sources: Mideast Youth, 02/04/2011)
