Tran Minh Cong, 31, convicted of trafficking 1.3 kilograms of heroin between 1997 and 1999 was executed by firing squad in Hanoi. He had been arrested at his house in March 1999, where police seized 36.5 grams of heroin, eight syringes and a small pair of scales.(Sources: Agence France-Presse, 17/05/2003)
