SRI LANKA: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

28 August 2009 :

the Colombo High Court in Sri Lanka imposed the death sentence on the accused in the Dhammika Amarasinghe murder. Judge W.T.M.P.B. Warawewa sentenced Siriwardanage Chaminda Udaya Kumara for murdering Amarasinghe at the Court premises on January 9, 2004. Kumara was paid Rs 20,000 on January 7 to kill Amarasinghe, the witness in a court case.
