Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry said authorities beheaded a Saudi man convicted of kidnapping and raping a 5-year-old boy. Saud bin Awad was beheaded in the capital Riyadh.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
