PAKISTAN: THREE ON DEATH ROW HAVE APPEALS REJECTED

according to a press release issued by the Adiala Central Jail in Pakistan, three prisoners sentenced to death will be hanged after their appeals for amnesty were rejected. The hanging is scheduled for July 31st. Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Idrees, both residents of Barki, were charged with committing intentional murder under s 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the police Station Gujar Khan on September 30, 1997. Both were sentenced to death by Rawalpindi Additional Session Judge Malik Muhammad Akram on March 30, 2001.
Shabbir Ahmed was also charged with committing murder under the same section of the Penal Code, at the RA Bazaar Rawalpindi Police Station on April 19, 1991. He was sentenced to death by the Rawalpindi Additional District & Session Judge Muhammad Yousaf on October 15, 1998.
