On June 8, the Supreme Court stayed till July 19 the execution of the death sentence on the four convicts, to enable the court to consider their review petition, in which the four have asked the court to consider the former prime minister's killing as a case of murder and not of terrorism. The Supreme Court further stayed their execution on July 16 and August 17.
