Nguyen Huu Nghia, 27, and Pham Van Quoc Vinh, 26, were executed by firing squad at dawn in Vietnam's southern business capital of Ho Chi Minh City for murder and armed robbery.They had been sentenced to death in April 2002.
Nghia was convicted of firing the shot that killed the shopkeeper of a jewellery shop in September 2001, while Vinh was found guilty of serious armed robbery, which also carries the death penalty.
Their raid netted gold worth 57,000 dollars.
