LEBANESE AUTHORITIES URGED TO INTERVENE TO HALT EXPECTED SAUDI ARABIA EXECUTION

02 April 2010 :

Amnesty International urged Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to halt the imminent execution of Lebanese national Ali Hussain Sibat in Saudi Arabia, after the organisation received reports that an execution is scheduled for tomorrow. Sibat was convicted on charges of "sorcery" in November 2009.
