November 1, 2025 - IRAN. Mitra Zamani executed in Khorramabad on November 1

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a woman was hanged in Khorramabad Central Prison on 1st November 2025. Her identity has been established as Mitra Zamani who was arrested for the murder of her husband five years ago. At the time of writing, her execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

according to the count made by IHR, Mitra Zamani is the 37th woman execution recorded in 2025 and the 26th to be hanged for murder charges. According to the count made by Wncri, with the execution of Mitra Zamani, the number of women executed in Iran since the beginning of 2025 has reached 47, marking an unprecedented record in the execution of women in Iran. In the entire 2024, 34 women were executed across the country.

According to data recorded by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, at least 310 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
