August 26, 2025 - IRAN. Maliheh Haghi executed in Tabriz on August 26

According to information obtained by Hengaw, Maliheh Haghi, a 34-year-old Turkish woman, was hanged at dawn on August 26, 2025.

She had been arrested six years ago on charges of murdering her fiancé, who was also her cousin.

State media have not published news of her execution.

According to data compiled by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the execution of Maliheh Haghi in Tabriz Prison brings the total number of women executed in Iran in 2025 to 30, and at least 293 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
