June 22, 2025 - IRAN. Majid Mosayebi executed on June 22 at an undisclosed location
On charges of Espionage for Israel hours after strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites
The Islamic Republic of Iran has executed Majid Mosayebi, a middle-aged man convicted of espionage for Israel, just hours after airstrikes targeted Iran’s nuclear sites.
According to information received by Hengaw, Mosayebi, the son of Rajabali, was executed in the early hours of June 22, 2025, at an undisclosed location. His arrest had not been publicly reported prior to the execution.
Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency later confirmed the execution, stating that the Supreme Court had upheld the death sentence. Mizan reported that Mosayebi “maintained continuous contact with Israeli intelligence and submitted weekly reports to a handler known as David.”
Mosayebi was convicted by the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan on charges of “waging War against God (moharebeh), corruption on earth (efsad fel-arz)” through collaboration with hostile foreign governments, and espionage.
This execution occurred only hours after U.S. forces launched airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz (Isfahan Province) and Fordow (Qom Province). Hengaw previously reported that the Iranian government often fast-tracks executions of prisoners accused of espionage for Israel during periods of military or geopolitical escalation as a form of retaliatory show of force.
