June 9, 2025 - IRAN. Karim Hemmati and Hamzeh Yari executed in Karaj on June 9

Two Kurdish prisoners, Karim Hemmati and Hamzeh Yari, were hanged at Karaj Central Prison.

According to reports received by Hengaw, the executions were carried out at dawn on June 9, 2025.

Karim Hemmati, a native of Harsin, had been held for five years. Hamzeh Yari, from Delfan, had served four years. Both were convicted on charges related to drug offenses.

State-affiliated media outlets have not publicly acknowledged the executions.
