December 10, 2025 - IRAN. Elnaz Azizi, a woman, executed in Mashhad on December 10

At dawn on December 10, Elnaz Azizi, a female prisoner sentenced to death on charges of murder, was executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.

The execution was carried out despite the fact that, to date, no judicial authorities or prison officials have issued any formal announcement regarding the case or the implementation of the sentence.

According to data recorded by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, with the execution of Elnaz Azizi, the number of women executed in Iran since the beginning of 2025 has reached 58, marking an unprecedented record in the execution of women in Iran. Fot the same source, at least 321 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.

So far in 2025, the clerical regime has executed at least 70% more women than in all of 2024, and the year is not yet over.
