June 8, 2025 - IRAN. Alireza Heidarzadeh executed in Maragheh on June 8
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Maragheh Prison on 8 June 2025. His identity has been established 29-year-old Alireza Heidarzadeh, who was arrested four years ago for murder.
An informed source told IHR: “Alireza was arrested for the murder of his cousin (paternal uncle’s son). They got into a fight over a girl they both liked and the victim hit his head on the street curb during the fight. He died from a cerebral haemorrhage. The family of his uncle refused to forgo execution.”
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
