August 17, 2025 - IRAN. Ahmad Younesi and Mehdi Najafi executed in Shiraz on August 17

According to information received by Hengaw, the executions of two men, identified as Ahmad Younesi and Mehdi Najafi, residents of Shiraz and Marvdasht in Fars Province, were carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz, at dawn on August 17, 2025.
Younesi and Najafi had been arrested five years earlier on drug-related charges.
The executions have not been announced by state media.
