September 17, 2025 - IRAN. A woman, Zahra Fotouhi, and Morteza Shirkhani executed in Tabriz on September 17

Iranian authorities have executed two Turkish prisoners, including a woman, in Tabriz Central Prison. They were identified as Zahra Fotouhi, 52, and Morteza Shirkhani, 40, both from Tabriz.

Hengaw has learned that Fotouhi and Shirkhani were executed at dawn on September 17, 2025.

Sources familiar with the cases said Fotouhi was arrested five years ago for killing her former husband, while Shirkhani was arrested four years ago on charges of murdering a friend in a financial dispute.

State-run media have not reported the executions.
