January 28, 2026 - IRAN. 5 men executed in Shiraz on January 28
Seifeddin Mehraban, Namegh Kasravi, Saeed Amjadi, Rahim Mirzazadeh, Ebrahim Abbasi
According to information Iran Human Rights obtained on February 10, 5 men were hanged in Shiraz (Adel Abad) Central Prison on 28 January 2026. Two of the men were sentenced for murder. They have been identified as 23-year-old Seifeddin Mehraban (photo) and 25-year-old Namegh Kasravi, two Afghan nationals from Baghlan province. They were arrested around two years ago.
Three other men were hanged for drug-related offences. Their identities have been established as 35-year-old Saeed Amjadi from Rasht, Rahim Mirzazadeh from the village of Bashman Anzali, and Ebrahim Abbasi, a 53-year-old father of four from Rasht. Saeed was arrested three years ago, Rahim was arrested four years ago and Ebrahim was arrested 17 months ago. Other sources, and HoC, already reported the execution of another man, Arshia Changi (Arshia Chegeni), in the same prison the same day.
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
