May 26, 2025 - IRAN. 3 women and 4 men executed in Birjand on May 26

None of them has been identified yet

According to Hrana and Wncri, there were 8 executions carried out in Birjand prison on 26 May, and not 1 as previously reported by IHR and Hengaw. In addition to the already reported execution of Hamid Shirzayi, four other men and three women were allegedly executed, whose names or crimes are not known.

According to HRANA, citing Haal Vsh, at dawn on May 26, 2025, at least eight prisoners — including three women — were executed in Birjand Prison, South Khorasan province. One of the individuals has been identified as Hamid Shirzayi, also known as Amanollah, 39, sentenced for drugs.

The identities and charges of the other executed prisoners have not been mentioned in the reports. Wncri, without citing Haal Vsh, gives the same information. After the execution of Setareh Taherloo on May 19, and with these three other women, the number of women executed in Iran in 2025 has risen to 20 in just five months. According to data compiled by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), at least 283 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.

As of the time of this report, authorities have not officially announced the executions.
