September 2, 2025 - IRAN. 1 woman 2 men executed in Zanjan on September 2

Gohar Taheri Aghdam (Gowhar Taheri-Aghdam), Bijan Hosseinpanah and Ahmad Alipour

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a woman and two men were hanged in Zanjan Central Prison on 2 September 2025. Their identities have been established as 52-year-old Gohar Taheri Aghdam, a Turkish woman from Zanjan, Bijan Hosseinpanah, a 35-year-old Azeri Turk man from Khorram Dareh, and 29-year-old Ahmad Alipour from Karaj. They were all sentenced for separate murders.

A source told IHR: “Gohar was arrested for the murder of her husband six years ago. Bijan was arrested four years ago and Ahmad was arrested for a murder committed during a street fight five years ago.”

According to Wncri, the execution of Gohar Taheri Aghdam brings the total number of women executed in Iran in 2025 to 33, and to at least 296 the number of women executed in Iran since 2007.

According to IHR, Gohar is the 25th woman execution recorded in 2025.

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
